Sunrise Assam Tea
The “Get It Together” Tea
This is the tea you grab when you need caffeine with a side of snap out of it. It’s bold, it’s bright, and it’s here to wake you up without wrecking your stomach like coffee sometimes does.
Kondoli Assam lays down the malty, no-nonsense base—the kind that can handle a splash of milk if that’s your style. Orange peel cuts through with a citrusy zing (don’t worry, it’s more “fresh” than “floor cleaner”), while cranberries bring the tart drama. Hibiscus gives it that deep ruby color, and rooibos steps in to smooth things out without turning it into dessert.
This isn’t some sleepy herbal tea. This is black tea with actual caffeine, brewed strong enough to kickstart your morning or power you through that 3 p.m. slump. Add honey if you’re feeling sweet, or just sip it straight while staring out the window, mentally preparing for the day’s chaos.
Twenty cups per jar—unless you’re making it double-strength, in which case, good luck keeping it around.
How to Brew It Right
- Standard Hot Cup: Boil water to 212°F (full boil for black tea). Add 1 teaspoon loose leaf per 8oz water. Steep exactly 4 minutes. Not longer—you'll get bitterness. Not shorter—you'll get weak tea. Strain. Drink black or add milk and honey.
- Stronger Morning Cup: Use 1.5 teaspoons per 8oz water if you want it bold. Still steep 4 minutes. Don't over-steep to make it stronger—just use more tea.
- Iced Tea (Summer Version): Brew double-strength: 2 teaspoons per 8oz hot water. Steep 4 minutes. Strain directly over a glass full of ice. The melting ice dilutes it to drinking strength. Add fresh orange slices if you want.
- Cold Brew (Less Bitter): Put 2 teaspoons loose leaf in a jar with 8oz room temperature water. Refrigerate overnight. Strain in the morning. Slower extraction means smoother taste.
- With Milk (British Style): Brew strong. Add warm milk and honey. The malty Assam flavor holds up to dairy without disappearing.
- Storage: Keep jar sealed tight. Store in a cool, dark place. Not in the fridge—condensation will ruin it. Not near the stove or in sunlight. Stays fresh for months when stored right.
All of our teas are gluten-free, although not all of our teas, botanicals, and other ingredients come from gluten-free certified suppliers.
