Bee’s Knees Honeybush Tea
Naturally Sweet Honeybush, The Bee’s Knees of Teas
When you need something warm, naturally sweet, and downright delightful, Bee’s Knees is the tea that delivers. It’s not just a name—it’s a vibe. This is the tea you’ll keep reaching for, the one that feels like it was made just for you.
Straight from South Africa, honeybush leaves steep into a golden brew that’s naturally sweet—no sugar, no honey, no nonsense. Think caramel meets molasses with a hint of toasted nuts. It’s smooth, cozy, and just the right amount of sweet without trying too hard. And yes, that’s all the plant. Nothing added, nothing artificial.
If rooibos is the reliable sibling, honeybush is the fun one. Sweeter, smoother, and without that earthy edge, it’s the tea for people who “don’t like tea.” You don’t need to add a thing to make it taste amazing, but if you want to toss in a splash of milk or a drizzle of honey, we won’t stop you.
With twenty cups per jar, Bee’s Knees is the tea that keeps you coming back. Why? Because it’s not just tea—it’s the bee’s knees. And once you’ve tried it, you’ll get it.
How to Brew It
- Hot and Simple: Heat water to 206°F (just below boiling). Add 1 teaspoon loose leaves per 8oz water. Steep 5-7 minutes. The longer you steep, the richer it gets without turning bitter. Strain. Drink it plain to taste the natural sweetness.
- Iced for Summer: Brew hot at double strength: 2 teaspoons per 8oz water. Let cool completely. Pour over ice. Add an orange or lemon slice. The naturally sweet flavor works cold.
- With Milk (Latte Style): Brew tea as directed. Add steamed milk—oat milk or dairy both work. The nutty, caramel notes pair well with milk. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top if you want.
- As a Cocktail Mixer: Brew strong and chill completely. Use it as a mixer with bourbon or whiskey. The caramel and molasses notes work with dark spirits. Add lemon juice and honey for a tea cocktail.
- Storage: Keep jar sealed tight. Store in a cool, dark place away from strong smells. Tea leaves absorb odors. Don't keep it near coffee or spices. The honeybush stays fresh when stored properly.
All of our teas are gluten-free, although not all of our teas, botanicals, and other ingredients come from gluten-free certified suppliers.
